The McCarthy Family may have a hard time explaining why their 2002 Toyota Prius was completely wrecked this summer. In fact, a bear broke into their vehicle which was in the driveway of their west Lake Tahoe cabin. Once the animal got into the vehicle, it got stuck and this made him mad which explains why it started ripping off the seats open, damaged
the gear box as well a bit a chunk of the steering wheel. During this moment of anger, the vehicle was shifted into neutral and hearing the noise from outside, this awakened the family. From their cabin, they could see their Prius rolling out of the driveway and finally crashed at the neighbour’s porch steps.
The owner of the car still does not understand what prompted the bear to get inside the vehicle since there was no food inside and the car was completely closed. So far as the police is concerned, though they are generally used to receiving calls related to bears, this one was quite an unusual case where a bear broke into someone’s car.
